Canyon Dawn

One morning in 2014 my paintings friends (the PAC6) and I arose before first light and drove to the Tsegi Overlook in Canyon de Chelly to capture the colors of the sunrise. It was a hilarious event with each of us scrambling for some source of light to see the colors on our pallets so that we could get our impressions of the fleeting beauty before it was just a memory.
I have painted many versions of this scene and hope this latest one will convey the emotions of the morning to those viewers who might be inspired to embark on a new adventure.
