El ramo

El ramo, Figure & Portrait
El ramo
Oil on Belgian linen. The process I followed consisted of creating a very consistent first layer, needing 3 months of work to do so. I then finished polishing the image through different glazes, mostly to adjust the skin tones and petals, as well as to adjust the overall temperature of the work.
This work symbolizes the strength and stoicism of a woman who has lost everything and who, despite this, fights to rebuild herself and move on with her life. The bouquet represents a tribute that she gives to herself, because she is the most important person in the world and without her no one exists, no one can be born, no one can love, no one can contemplate beauty.

The painting has been done taking into account every detail, since the importance of the work lies in every detail. There is a previous drawing called “Mujer con ramo” that perhaps emphasizes a little more the feeling of pride and strength of the protagonist.
All of this is focused on creating a painting with a modern appearance, but with a timeless look, which goes beyond stereotypes and dogmas.
