Portrait of Rodney Farmer

Inspired by Van Gogh of late, this portrait was rendered with watercolor and gouache on Belgian Linen. My father is one of the heroes of my life. He's endured a number of health issues over the past 15 years, and remains one of my most beloved friends. This portrait remembers him from 20 years ago, in a time of vigor and energy, that preceded the many trials of health that were soon to follow. I felt I was done with the work, when I saw him looking back at me.
