The Boss

We were at a farm and the chickens were milling around doing their dance. It was a chaotic scene with lots of activity and feathers flying. Then, in walked the boss; a very large rooster strutting his stuff. I snapped as many photo references as I could. Back at home, I decided that palette knife would be the best tool to describe this intense scene and give this painting the energy I wanted to convey. I also abstracted the chickens so that the main focus would be on the big guy!
