Golden Hour

I try and work from life as much as possible and love to paint flowers. I bought sunflowers and put them in a favorite vessel, set up the lighting (combo of both natural light and one light stand), and painted this (mostly in one sitting). It does have a chiaroscuro feel to it but my main intention was to keep it loose and free with pops of golden light. Flowers are constantly changing and I like to capture them with energetic brush marks and lost and found edges!
