I sometimes go to a local city park to paint. There is a little waterway with dense foliage and trees and the reflections are very beautiful (especially in the morning). What struck me this day was the subtle filtering of sunlight through the trees giving pops of greens and flecks of light. I used palette knives as they helped to describe the sharpness of light in certain areas, the textures of the plants, and helped create a sense of movement in the water.
