I like to paint at a local city park where there is a lovely waterway with dense foliage and trees. The water reflections, in the morning, are very beautiful. What drew me to this scene was the crisp reflection of the palm tree, the lovely green reflections of the foliage, and the floating debris! I used palette knife for this painting as I felt it best captured the textures and edges of the debris and shore line and gave it the energy and movement I was looking for. In addition, I used a high horizon line as this painting was mostly about reflecting on reflections!
