Progress on Memorial

This piece was painted on site in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. The scene shows the last undeveloped land in Fort Thomas next to Memorial Parkway with an excavator parked in the center. As I painted this, the city was working on preparing the plot for development and I was interested in the way that the excavator became almost architectural, itself.
