Through the Lower Sierras is inspired by the mountain ranges and plateau of the Sierras and the juxtaposition of both the rugged beauty and serenity of the Sierras. Calming colors were used to reinforce the serenity of the plateau while palette knife was used to create the harshness of the mountain range. Palette knife and brush were used to create the painting.
