This scene I came across while heading into the town of Bishop, California. It was a partly cloudy morning and chilly with the first snowfall forecast. All the preferred ingredients had come together for what inspired me to paint. I snapped a few reference photos and as soon as I arrived home, a few hours later, I set to work, attempting to capture the feeling of unsettled weather and the promise of rain and snow.
